The scene of “Noli Me Tangere” (“Do Not Touch Me” / “Appearance of Christ to Mary Magdalene”) appears in Byzantine monuments and reached its final form in the 16th century. This particular depiction is inspired by a Cretan School icon (Dubrovnik, 1603, signed by Lambardos).
The scene symbolizes the transition from Christ’s physical presence to His spiritual presence, as well as the transformation of His relationship with the faithful – from earthly closeness to spiritual love.
This handmade artwork is painted with iconography pigments on canvas and reproduced using the Fine Art Giclée technique – an ideal method for creating museum-quality prints.
Each copy is signed on the back by me, and reproduction is not permitted without my permission.
