This is a unique handmade painting inspired by the authentic Byzantine icon of Prophet Elijah, based on the original located in a monastery on Mount Athos, painted by the monk Michael.
Prophet Elijah lived in Gilead and carried out his prophetic mission during the 9th to 10th century BC. His name in Hebrew means "My God is the One who is" (Eliyahu). He lived an ascetic life and was known for his great zeal for God's teachings. His miracles were many and extraordinary, attesting to his profound theological significance.
