This unique artwork is a reproduction of my original hand-painted icon, created using traditional iconography powders on canvas.
It depicts Archangel Michael, inspired by the icon from the iconostasis of the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Theotokos at the Ferapontov Monastery. The composition and expression are influenced by the timeless style of Andrei Rublev.
In the Old Testament, Archangel Michael appears as a powerful heavenly figure, leading the angelic hosts in the cosmic battle against “the great Dragon, the ancient Serpent — Satan.” This icon captures his majestic and spiritual essence.
